It is in your best interest to be able to do this. If you are unable to push the final sale of the goods and/or services that you are writing about, you will fail in becoming an effective copywriter.

As a copywriter, you should always strive to build a database of clients that you can perform copywriting tasks for. This may include schools, doctors, lawyers, and more. If you are able to find many clients in a variety of fields, you are likely to become more successful than if you just stick to copywriting one particular area and/or field. You may visit local schools and offer to be a copywriter for various fundraisers that are performed throughout the school year, you may choose to perform copywriting services to doctors on the products and specials that they have, or you may choose to help lawyers when it comes to their copywriting needs.

It is important that you know all the tricks of the trade in the copywriting field in order to become a successful copywriter. If you do not, or know them and do not put them into practice, you will not reap any of the benefits of success at all.
