Very interesting post.
But why then am i seeing that some lower PR sites are topping the engines over the higher PR sites. I think that PR is only one small elements to the whole ranking game. But then again, of course its good to look at the little green bar increasing...

Overall, i am trust this PR thingy. But it just confuses me as different people are saying differenting statements..Good to just reference the source who created PR in the first place! :)

From what i hear, backlinks are most important as Google page rank can be there one day, gone the next.

Keep busy blogging and you'll start to see your page rank fly!

I started using a software package RealLink Finder which pushed my blog right up the Google ratings within a week. I agree the content has to be useful though or people will soon realise you're full of S**T!

Drop by my blog http://cashelephant.blogs.ie/

keep busy!

Hi Josephgelb,

One reason is your content or niche. When the niche is good to many, the links surely come. Also how we market our website does play a role too. Own domain name is also important to get credibility for linking strategy.

I don't think #1 is correct. Page rank doesn't drive up search engine ranking of a page. Much more likely, it follows. Low ranking pages can show up well in the serps based on activity and growth. The longer that keeps up, the higher the PR. But activity and growth easily overpower Page rank influence.

why is it that some sites seem to win the game quick with seemingly lower quality less outlinked content whereas well though out content with a conplex outlink structure often takes years to solidify?
